  Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College Ambajogai unlike most other colleges in India started its journey long back from being a renowned health care center to the first rural medical college in India. We have continuously tried with all resources available to make this journey as successful as possible. The limitations of geographical location have been overcome by the zeal and spontaneity of the staff members from all cadres. We have achieved many landmark successes in education and health care. The students of this college have always excelled in under-graduate and post-graduate examinations conducted by university. Total ----- UG and ----PG medal have been received by students of this college. Many students who completed undergraduate education from this college competed for and got admitted to various postgraduate and superspeciality courses all over India. The college takes pride in various achievements from alumni of this college. The faculties from this college are not left behind when it comes to giving a direction to medical education at state level. Dean Medical faculty at MUHS Nashik hails from this college. While four other faculty members of this college have been elected as member board of study for MUHS. In last few months the institution has succeeded in increasing its undergraduate intake capacity to 100 admissions annually, on infrastructural front in last 6 months we could start a new well equipped casualty department, a state of art 64 slice CT scan. The college has started one of the best bloodbanks with facilities for component separation. The care and well-being of staff and patients is being taken care of. On this front we can claim of vast improvement in sanitation conditions, a new canteen for patients. The road to progress is always helped by not being complacent. It is our determination that the institute should become a Centre of excellence for education and health care. We plan to start new PG courses in faculties like radiology, forensic sciences etc. in short span. On patient care front a state of art surgical wing with nursing home will be made available in short period. I am aware that all of this cannot be achieved by a single individual but welcome help, suggestions and constructive criticism from all quarters concerned. Thanks.
